The Need for Specialized Refrigerated Transport on the Rise

According to the ATA Reefer Report, in September-October's issue of Coldfacts, the need to specialized refrigerated transportation equipment is on the rise. At the time of the study, ATA reported that the refrigerated trucking industry hauled 520.1 million tons of freight, 5% of the total truck freight.
With consumer trends changing, transportation companies need to be cognoscente of the new requirements. Things that didn't need refrigeration a few years ago, are now required to be refrigerated. People are eating out more and demanding more 'fresh' foods - all contributing factors for the increased need.
